Immersion Program Committee

Charge

The Immersion Program Committee acts as an oversight council for the Immersion Program and works closely with Immersion Program faculty and ACRL staff to market and promote the various Immersion Program tracks, develop conference programming related to the Immersion Program, sustain the community of Immersion Program alumni and cultivate their engagement, support assessment efforts, and review applications for the Immersion Program tracks.

Composition

  • A minimum of five members (i.e. a chair, vice-chair, and three members)
  • Chair serves as ex-officio on the ACRL Information Literacy Coordinating Committee
  • Ex-officio members include the Immersion Faculty Program Coordinator(s)
  • Additional appointments at the discretion of the Vice-President/President-Elect and Appointments Committee

Origin

In 2008, the Immersion Program Committee was reconstituted by the ACRL Board as a standing  committee from the former Institute for Information Literacy Executive Committee as part of the new Information Literacy Coordinating Committee structure.
