Preservation Standards and Practices Committee
Charge
Promotes and supports the development and use of appropriate methods and materials employed in the preservation of library materials in all formats. Identifies and reviews relevant information regarding standards, recommended practices, and technical reports. Oversees the creation and dissemination of the Preservation Statistics Survey. Promotes and coordinates Metadata and Collections Section activities in this area and brings potentially beneficial interactions with other groups sharing similar interests within and outside of ALA to the attention of Section leadership.
