Representatives to ALA Groups
Core appoints representatives to various outside organizations to support the standards and practices of all areas of technical services and technology. We're currently building a list of our representatives to groups within ALA and external organizations.
Representatives to Other Organizations
The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA)
IFLA is the leading international body representing the interests of library and information services and their users. It is the global voice of the library and information profession. Core advises ALA on nominations for appointment to IFLA's Information Technology Section.
The North American RDA Committee (NARDAC)
NARDAC is the entity responsible for representing the North American region on the RDA Steering Committee (RSC). NARDAC’s membership comes from the following North American communities that have implemented RDA: the American Library Association (ALA), the Canadian Committee on Cataloguing, and the Library of Congress. ALA has delegated to Core the responsibility for appointing up to two voting members as ALA Representatives to NARDAC.
