Training for External Review Panelists

The next External Review Panelist (ERP) general training session will be held during ALA's 2014 Annual Conference in Las Vegas, NV. The session will be held on Friday, June 27, 8:00am – 12noon, location to be determined. New and experienced ERP pool members are invited and encouraged to attend this session on the role of ERP members in the ALA accreditation process. Participants will learn about the comprehensive review process and timeline, hear from experienced panelists, and work in a group to analyze a sample Program Presentation. This session will focus on Standard IV: Students of the 2008 ALA Standards for Accreditation. Participation in a training session is a prerequisite for serving on a review panel. Currently assigned ERPs are especially encouraged to attend.

The next ERP Chair training session will be held at the ALA 2014 Midwinter Meeting in Philadelphia, on Friday, January 24, 1:30-4:30pm, Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel, Logans 1. Experienced reviewers (two or more reviews) who are interested in serving as an ERP Chair are encouraged to attend. Program representatives who are interested in learning more about the comprehensive review process are also encouraged to attend. RSVP to Laura Dare, ldare@ala.org.
