Library Information Technologies

The following scholarship(s) available through the ALA Scholarship Program are designed to encourage the entry of qualified persons that indicate a potential for leadership and commitment to library technology.

  • Core/Christian (Chris) Larew Memorial Scholarship in Library and Information Technology - this $3,000 scholarship is awarded jointly on an annual basis by the Core: Leadership, Infrastructure and Futures, a division of the American Library Association, and Informata.com. The scholarship is designed to encourage the entry of qualified persons into the library and information technology field, who plan to follow a career in that field, and who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a vision in pursuit of library and information technology.  The recipient is announced and introduced, if present, at the Core President's Program held during the Annual Conference of the American Library Association.

ALA also has general scholarships, scholarships for library support staff, and scholarships for underrepresented groups. All ALA Scholarships can be applied for through the ALA Scholarship Program.
