ALA's Public Programs Office offers grants and awards to support programming in libraries of all types. Current opportunities are listed below.

  • Sara Jaffarian School Library Program Award: School libraries are invited to apply for a $5,000 award recognizing outstanding humanities programming in kindergarten through eighth grade. Nominations have been extended through July 15.
     
  • STAR Net STEAM Equity: Public library workers in rural communities are invited to participate in a project that will bring culturally inclusive STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) programming and exhibitions to their patrons, especially often-underreached Latino populations.Those interested in applying on behalf of their library are invited to complete a brief Notice of Intent (NOI) about your community demographics and needs by July 20, 2020. Estimated time required to complete the NOI: 15 minutes.
