Paying Dues in Installments

Personal members with dues for ALA, divisions and round tables totaling over $135.00 are able to pay in two equal installments over the course of the year when renewing, joining or rejoining online with a credit or debit card.  Contributions to ALA scholarships and endowment funds are not eligible for the installment plan.

Here’s how it works

  •  Join or Renew online only 
  •  Have dues totaling $135.00 or more in any combination of ALA, divisions, sections and round tables
  •  Use a valid credit or debit card with an expiration date later than the end of the 6th month of that year’s membership
  •  The first installment will happen when you complete your transaction
  •  The second installment will be charged around the 15th day of the 6th month of your membership year
  •  A $1.50 service charge will added to each installment
  •  If your installment payment fails, ALA will attempt to contact you at the email and phone you provide to secure an alternate form of payment
  •  If ALA cannot charge your second installment by the end of the 6th month, your ALA membership(s) will be canceled.
