CHICAGO–Core hosts the webinar “What Candidates Want: Revamping Your Recruitment” on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 1 p.m. CT. Interested in improving recruitment practices? This talk will highlight practical steps managers can take to make the search process kinder, gentler, and more inclusive. Drawing from a recent survey of 446 job hunters (spanning multiple library types), the presenter will share some hair-raising stories and look at how to avoid some of the least effective hiring practices. Then the presentation will explore the foundations of a well-considered recruitment strategy, delving into current research as well as techniques from programs such as Oregon State University’s Search Advocates. Participants will leave with a practical guide to revamping recruitment processes and reaching great candidates, including a resource list that will help participants delve further into current best practices and legal considerations.
