2026 National Institute Preconference Registration Rates

Forthcoming!

Housing is not included with the cost of registration. Please visit National Institute Housing for more information.

We know that cost is one of the biggest factors in determining National Institute attendance; ALSC works hard to keep the price of registration and hotels as low as possible. Registration includes Thursday's Opening General Session dinner and daily breaks on Friday and Saturday.

Registration will open in spring 2026. Be on the lookout for more information in the coming months!

Membership in ALSC
ALSC members receive a significant discount on National Institute registration, in addition many other member benefits throughout the year. ALA and ALSC membership is managed by the ALA Membership and Registration Services (MRS). You can join or renew/rejoin/add to your membership using ALA’s secure online form; or call 800-545-2433 and press 5. MRS representatives are available Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM Central.

As part of the forthcoming reunification of ALSC and YALSA, YALSA members will also receive the ALSC division member rate for registration.

Cancellation Policy

National Institute operates on a cost-recovery basis. ALSC reserves the right to cancel National Institute, or any portion thereof, if there is insufficient registration or for other reasons. Neither ALA nor any of its divisions are responsible for cancellation charges assessed by airlines or travel agencies, or other losses incurred in the cancellation of National Institute.

Attendee Cancellation Policy

Cancellation is limited and must be made in writing, via email, to Sarah Polen, Deputy Director, and ALA's Member and Registration Services no later than August 31, 2026. Cancellations will result in a full refund, less a $50 processing fee. No phone cancellations will be accepted. Refunds will be processed after October 24, 2026. No refunds will be issued after the registration deadline date (9/8/2026) for any reason other than hospitalization or death.
