Friends of ALSC

Friends of ALSC was created to ensure excellence in the Association's traditional programs and services and to support growth in new directions as our profession meets the exciting challenges of the 21st century.

Planned Giving

Designating a gift to ALSC through your charitable plans provides meaningful, ongoing support for library service to children while offering financial benefits to the donor. Learn more about how your generous gift will help ALSC advance its core mission here.
Help support individuals pursuing a master’s or advanced degree in children’s librarianship. Currently funds, on an annual basis, two $8,000 scholarships and three ALSC Spectrum Scholars.

ALSC Spectrum Scholarship

Ellen Fader, ALSC past-president (2005-2006), has provided a generous donation to the Spectrum Scholarship for an eighth consecutive year. Her contribution will support a student through the 2020-2021 school term. Scholarship recipients will be named in June 2020. Many thanks to Ellen for her generous donation and continued support of and commitment to increasing diversity in the profession.
