CHICAGO – Booklist Reader is celebrating its first publication anniversary by launching a new print option for subscribers, starting January 2023. Booklist Reader offers diverse readers' advisory recommendations for library patrons of all ages. After its successful first year as a digital-only publication, for an additional fee, monthly print quantities of 50–5,000 copies will be available for U.S and Canadian Booklist subscribers.

In addition to adult, youth, and audio recommendations for all communities and all who love to read, Booklist Reader features author interviews, original features, and top-10 lists, and highlights authors and titles that readers may not have otherwise discovered. Booklist Reader digital is already included as a benefit of subscriptions to Booklist.

Explaining the new print opportunity, Booklist Publisher George Kendall said, “We’re excited by the number of libraries sharing Booklist Reader via their websites, but Booklist understands that not all library patrons do or can interact with their library digitally. As a service to library-building visitors our new print option will allow libraries to offer Booklist Reader as a high-value takeaway in print, promoting the joy of reading widely to visitors of all ages.”

“I can’t wait for libraries to share Booklist Reader in print!” said Katie Clausen, Booklist’s advisory board chair and early literacy services manager at Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin, Illinois. “It’s an invaluable resource for all library patrons—adults, kids, families, parents, educators, and more. There are features you’ll find in no other publication, including curated book lists, one-of-a-kind articles, and author interviews.”

Booklist Reader partners with LibraryReads, an organization that each month publishes a list of the top 10 books read by library workers across the nation. Rebecca Vnuk, executive director of LibraryReads, noted that “LibraryReads is beyond excited to be featured each month in Booklist Reader. It's a thrill to see our list in print; and we know it will be one more tool in a resource full of great content aimed at everyone who loves to read.”
