PHILADELPHIA - The Association of Library Trustees, Advocates, Friends and Foundations (ALTAFF), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), is pleased to welcome Thrift Books to its family of corporate sponsors.

In turn, Thrift Books is offering ALTAFF members who use their service a $100 coupon to Thriftbooks.com. The Thrift Books Library Program provides an easy solution for libraries and schools to earn top dollar for their discarded and donated books.

As part of the Thrift Books Library Program, groups receive 50-percent commissions on books, and no pre-screening is required. Groups receive a free customized storefront, and Thrift Books’ national network of distribution centers sells books worldwide in numerous online marketplaces. Thrift Books takes care of listing, pricing, mailing and tech support. Books sent to Thrift Books will be viewed by millions of potential customers worldwide.

Through its programs, Thrift Books has saved more than 200 million books from landfills and has donated more than a million books worldwide.

"Thrift Books offers our Foundation a revenue source based on book value, easy to read monthly statements, great customer service and an online presence on their website,” says Jeanne Thorson, executive director of the King County (Wash.) Library System Foundation. “As online sales and vendors have multiplied over the years, Thrift Books has continued to leverage its technological experience and to enhance its visibility in the marketplace, which, in turn, significantly enhances the sales of our titles. I highly recommend working with the Thrift Books team.”

For the special offer of a $100 coupon to ThriftBooks.com, ALTAFF members should log into the Friends & Foundation Zone or the Trustee Zone at www.ala.org/altaff.
