RUSA’s 2011 Outstanding Reference Sources list

SAN DIEGO — The Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) has announced its selection for the 2011 Outstanding Reference Sources. 

The Outstanding Reference Sources list of titles identifies the most important reference publications for small and medium-sized public and academic libraries published in a given year. The publication of this list began in 1958 and now also includes outstanding electronic resources.

Best fiction, non-fiction and poetry for adults named to 2011 Notable Books List

SAN DIEGO — The Notable Books Council of the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), a division of the American Library Association, has announced its selections for the 2011 Notable Books List.
 
Since 1944, the goal of the Notable Books Council has been to make available to the nation’s readers a list of about 25 very good, very readable and, at times, very important fiction, nonfiction and poetry books for the adult reader.

2010 guide to the Newbery and Caldecott award-winners

CHICAGO — ALA Editions, the publishing imprint of the American Library Association, announces the release of “The Newbery and Caldecott Awards: A Guide to the Medal and Honor Books, 2010 Edition.” Published in association with the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), this latest edition covers awards for the most distinguished American children’s literature and illustration.
