ALSC provides $70k in Strengthening Communities Through Libraries grants to 14 libraries

CHICAGO — The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) is pleased to announce the recipients of the Strengthening Communities Through Libraries minigrants. These grants are made possible by a Youth Literacy grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. The fourteen minigrant recipients will each receive $5,000 to provide opportunities for STEAM learning during out-of-school time to children in their communities.

The libraries range in size and location and represent ALSC members from twelve different states. ALSC members from the following libraries were selected to receive a Strengthening Communities Through Libraries minigrant from ALSC: Attleboro Public Library (MA), Carroll County Public Library (MD), Fairfield County District Library (OH), GCLS Glassboro Library (NJ), Jackson District Library (MI), Judy B. McDonald Public Library (TX), Kenton County Public Library - Erlanger Branch (KY), Lafourche Parish Public Library - South Lafourche Branch (LA), New Cumberland Public Library (PA), Northlake Public Library District (IL), - Orange Public Libraries - Wheeler Memorial Library (MA), Rowan Public Library (NC), Show Low Public Library (AZ), and Skokie Public Library (IL).
