CHICAGO — Registration and housing are now open for 2015 ALA Midwinter Meeting and Exhibits in Chicago, Jan. 30-Feb. 3. “The conversation starts here . . . ” every year at Midwinter Meeting, which offers the usual gold-standard networking, updates, exhibits, future-focused discussions, innovators and thought leaders and high-profile speakers. Midwinter Meeting highlights include:

“News You Can Use.” Sessions focusing on the latest updates from experts on public policy, ebooks and digital content, technology, community engagement, accessibility, LIS research, book industry data, RDA, grant priorities, library user research and more, based on new research, surveys, reports, legislation/ regulation, projects, beta trials, focus groups and other data. Providers include ALA divisions and offices, the ALA Digital Content Working Group and a wide range of other organizations. 

Auditorium Speaker Series, ERT/Booklist Author Forum, Arthur Curley Memorial Lecture, President’s Program, Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Observance and Sunrise Celebration. These and other events and sessions feature inspiring speakers who are thought leaders, industry icons, technology innovators, award-winning and bestselling authors, library-loving entertainers and more.

A packed exhibit hall with over 450 organizations featuring the latest in books, technologies and services; PopTop Stage, What's Cooking @ ALA Stage and Book Buzz theater showcasing the hottest authors, illustrators and titles; Mobile App Pavilion, Post Office, Internet Room; and hundreds of "Meet the Authors" autographing opportunities.

ALA Midwinter Meeting once again offers dozens of formal and informal opportunities to engage, learn and network, from the “kitchen-table” type conversations with a focus on your aspirations for ALA as your professional community to Unconference and Library Camp.

Early bird registration is open until noon (Central) Oct. 31. Advance registration is open from Nov. 1 through noon (Central) Jan. 23, 2015. Annual Conference registration and housing is open noon (Central), Jan. 12, 2015.
