Tools for Locating Primary Sources in Archives and Online

75-minute webinar on February 14, 2024

Learn how to help patrons who are starting research using primary sources. Discovery tips for the reference interview, online and printed tools for locating primary sources, and methods to document the researcher’s findings. After attending this webinar, students will be able to: conduct reference interviews to elicit information that will guide the conversation toward finding appropriate primary sources; use commonly available tools to identify archival and online repositories of primary sources, and; advise researchers in the documentation of the archival research process, facilitate later works in writing up the findings of the research.

During this webinar, presenter Steven Knowlton, Librarian for History and African American Studies at Princeton University since 206 will cover reference interviews for archival research, commonly used online tools to identify primary sources, and print reference sources for finding primary sources.

Marketing the 21st Century Library

Four-week asynchronous course starting on February 19, 2024

In this four-week asynchronous eCourse, participants will explore how a well-developed marketing plan drives the creation of promotional plans, allowing librarians to better serve their patrons, community, and professional colleagues. Designed for MLS/MLIS candidates, graduates, librarians, and paraprofessionals who research and develop marketing and promotional plans for their library.
