BRASS Awards: Congrats 2014 Recipients!

 

BRASS Best of the Best Business Websites Award
The award recognizes websites highly relevant to information professionals involved in providing business reference services. The criteria include the quality of content, ease of use, and technical execution. 

 

Gale Cengage Learning Excellence in Business Librarianship Award
This $3,000 award and citation, sponsored by Gale Cengage Learning, is awarded to an individual who has made a significant contribution to business librarianship. 

  • Celia Ross, University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business

 

Emerald Research Award
This $2,500 cash award, sponsored by Emerald Group Publishing, is for ALA members seeking support in conducting research in business librarianship. 

  • Ilana Barnes and Tao Zhang, Purdue University Libraries

 

Business Expert Press Award
This $1,250 award, sponsored by Business Expert Press, is given to a successful librarian who is new to the field of academic business librarianship, in order to support their attendance to the ALA Annual Conference. 

  • Desirae Zingarelli-Sweet, Carrier Library of James Madison University 

 

Gale Cengage Learning Student Travel Award
This $1,250 cash award, sponsored by Gale Cengage Learning, is given to a student who is enrolled in an ALA accredited master's degree program, to attend the ALA Annual Conference and to receive a one-year membership in BRASS. The applicant should have demonstrated interest in a career as a business reference librarian.

Morningstar Public Librarian Support Award
This annual award sponsored by Morningstar, offers a cash award of $1,250 in travel funds for a public librarian, who has performed outstanding business reference service, and who requires financial assistance, to attend the ALA Annual Conference.
