Subcommitees and Task Forces

The Preservation Administrators Interest Group consists of two co-chairs and attendees. Co-chairs are elected for two-year terms. One co-chair is elected each year to provide overlapping terms. The membership in attendance elects the incoming co-chair at the ALA Annual Conference.

Origin

Formed in 1994 when the Preservation of Library Materials Section (PLMS) and Reproduction of Library Materials Section (RLMS) merged to form the Preservation and Reformatting Section (PARS). At Annual Conference 2009, PARS formally restructured its organization, modifying the name of the Preservation Administrators Discussion Group (PADG) to the Preservation Administrators Interest Group (PAIG). There was no change in charge.

Get Involved

We solicit candidates for the co-chair position every spring. A co-chair is expected to be able to attend both the Annual Conference and Midwinter Meeting during their tenure. Other members are invited twice a year to submit ideas for the programs and poster sessions at Midwinter and Annual. All members are invited to join the group's discussion list.
