Composition
The Continuing Education Committee consists of 16 members. Committee members serve as liaison representatives to ALCTS sections. A number of subcommittees assist with the work of the committee, particularly in the areas of publicity and marketing, technical support for online delivery, and assistance with online courses. Committee members are appointed by the president-elect of the association. Subcommittee members are appointed by the committee chair. Interns are welcome.

- Online Course Administration
Origin
Established in 2009 at the request of the ALCTS Board of Directors. The CE committee supersedes the ALCTS Education Committee, which was disbanded in 2009. The change was made in order to emphasize the importance of continuing education for the association.
Get Involved
ALCTS values committed and active committee members. Qualified members are welcome to volunteer to serve on the Continuing Education committee. Committee members must have an interest in the work of the committee and be able to work between meetings via e-mail and ALA Connect. Most members are required to attend Midwinter Meetings and Annual Conferences, but there are opportunities for participating online only. Appointments take place once a year, during the spring. Committee service usually begins following Annual Conference, about July 1. Express your interest in serving on this committee by filling out an application form.
