About LES

The Literatures in English Section, as part of the Association of College and Research Libraries, provides a forum in which academic and research librarians who support literatures in English programs exchange ideas, exercise leadership, and contribute to the improvement of library service in the field.

LES is a section of the Association of College & Research Libraries, a division of the American Library Association.

Includes governing rules regarding purpose, meetings, officers, executive committee, etc.

Modeled after the ACRL Strategic Plan, these highlighted areas will most clearly advance the goals and meet the needs of section members

LES Community Agreement

Extends the baseline expectations for collegial interactions and articulates the values and ideals of the Literatures in English Section for its members.

Companion Document to the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education: Research Competencies in Writing and Literature

This Companion Document to the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education focuses on Research Competencies in Writing and Literature was approved by the ACRL Board on November 9, 2021. It replaced the former Research Competency Guidelines for Literatures in English
