Describe yourself in three words

Adventurous, independent, straightforward.

"The Great Mistake" by Jonathan Lee.

Describe ACRL in three words

Thriving, collaborative, dynamic.

What do you value about ACRL?

What I value about ACRL is its continuous learning and professional development opportunities. I attended my first ACRL conference in March 2023, and I enjoyed the different types of information that pertained to academic librarians (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Social Justice, and Toxicity and Retention in Academic Libraries). I also enjoyed meeting other librarians who come from different backgrounds and different experiences.

What do you as an academic librarian contribute to your campus?

As a resident librarian, I am learning about being an academic librarian in the medical/health sciences field. Most of my library background is in technical services and circulation in public librarianship. However, I wanted to learn more about librarianship in the medical field, and the residency showed me the duties and responsibilities of an academic librarian. My responsibilities include reference through consultation and chat, selecting books for the Biology Department, assisting in bibliometrics reports for departments for the Perelman School of Medicine, being a representative for the Librarians at the University Council, and writing blog posts for the library, Biomeditations.

In your own words

Don't be a copycat of someone else, be your authentic self.
