Although the call for proposals for programs and preconferences has passed, it's not too late… In the coming months you’ll have two additional opportunities to propose a talk at PLA 2018! Sign up to be notified when we begin accepting proposals for our popular Spark Talks, five-minute lightning-fast presentations to ignite new ideas in your public library colleagues; and for the How-To Festival, 20-minute hands-on sessions to share your “how-to” expertise.
Offered biennially, the PLA Conference is the premier event for public libraries, drawing thousands of librarians, library support staff, trustees, friends and library vendors from across the country and around the world. This multi-day event offers over 100 top-quality education programs, social events that include author luncheons and networking receptions, and a bustling exhibits hall featuring the latest in products and services. PLA Dynamic Planning Institute Preconference

PLA's next offering of the Dynamic Planning Institute will be as a full-day preconference at the PLA 2018 Conference in Philadelphia. Registration now open! More information is available on the conference website. PLA’s Dynamic Planning Institute delivers best practices in strategic planning for libraries with a unique focus on simple, low-cost planning. Participants will learn how to create a dynamic strategic plan, in a timely manner, which will serve as a living document and create actionable pathways for decision making, community involvement, and funding priorities.
