To provide a forum to educate the library community about ongoing efforts to transition from the MARC Standard for bibliographic data. This interest group examines new approaches and strategies for implementing bibliographic data models within the framework of linked open data and semantic web technology.

Composition

Interest groups are completely self-initiated, so appointments are not necessary.  Membership consists of any number of participants and is open to LITA and ALCTS members. The leadership of each group is selected by the group.

The MARC Formats Interest Group was established in 1990.

This interest group is open to all LITA and ALCTS members. Conference attendance is not required.
