Request for Board Action

Thank you for your interest in the YALSA governance process.  The Board of Directors has the principal responsibility for fulfillment of YALSA's mission and the legal accountability for its operations.  To find out which types of issues and requests are most appropriately handled by the board, visit the Governance section of the web site and view recent board agendas and documents.

Before you fill out this form, please determine if your request is actually best handled by the board by considering these questions:

  • Does my request have something to do with the web site?  If so, please contact the Communications Specialist, YALSA Projects, at yalsaprojects@ala.org instead of filling out this form.
  • Is my request about the charge or policy of a particular committee?  If so, please contact the O&B Committee instead of filling out this form.
  • Is my request about a committee or other group I am serving on but not about a charge or policy change?  If so, please contact your Board Liaison before filling out this form.

The ALA (American Library Association and its units) and the ALA-APA (Allied Professional Association) (collectively “ALA”) use the personal data you provide to the ALA to process membership, inform you of products, services, conferences, education opportunities, events and for other purposes which are within the Association’s mission. To accomplish these actions, ALA contracts with third-parties who gather and process personal data to complete interactions such as online purchases, conference registration, and fulfillment. The personal data as provided is processed and stored as a legitimate Interest to the ALA in order to fulfill your requests for information and services from ALA.
