Fund Raising

The GLBT Round Table Fund Raising Committee works to sustain the round table by securing funding beyond membership dues. Funds raised by the committee cover round table expenses, support the Stonewall Book Awards, fund scholarships for Emerging Leaders, support conference programs and webinars, provide sponsorship funds for GLBT Round Table awards, and finances various other round table initiatives including June is GLBT Book Month™.

Emerging Leaders Sponsorship

The American Library Association (ALA) Emerging Leaders (EL) program is a leadership development program which enables newer library workers from across the country to participate in problem-solving work groups, network with peers, gain an inside look into ALA structure, and have an opportunity to serve the profession in a leadership capacity. It puts participants on the fast track to ALA committee volunteerism as well as other professional library-related organizations.

Each year the GLBT Round Table looks to sponsor one of these up and coming library workers, ensuring they have the opportunity to participate in the program. Sponsored Emerging Leaders will receive $1,500 to offset travel costs to the Midwinter and Annual Conferences.

Stonewall Book Awards

For over 40 years, the Stonewall Book Awards have honored the best gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender literature and the authors who have brought our experiences to light. Donations to the fund are used to support the award in the years to come and thanks to major donations from Mike Morgan and Larry Romans, the Stonewall Long Term Investment continues to grow.

Planned Giving

It's never too late to plan for the future. Planned giving from your estate, to the GLBT Round Table, is a gift that ensures a legacy. The ALA Development Office staff will work with you to structure a gift that meets your needs and the needs of your family, in addition to supporting the round table.

Online donations are accepted on the giveALA website. On the site, choose to make your donation to either:
