Team Teen Read Week 2010
Who
The team will be comprised of organizations and companies that provide support to Teen Read Week™.
What
Team TRW will come together to provide resources to needy libraries to help them update their teen collections and programs.
Where
TRW is celebrated in libraries across the country.
- Team TRW will have a virtual space on YALSA’s TRW web site that lists each team member, includes their boilerplate overview, and provides a link to their site.
- Team members would be recognized at the ALA Annual Conference with a sign for their booth and ribbons for staff badges. Team TRW could also host an event at the conference, if enough team members expressed interest.
- At local libraries, Team TRW could provide author visits, books, swag, and more.
When
Team TRW will debut with the launch of the 2010 TRW campaign during National Library Week in April and continue through TRW, October 17 – 23.
Why
The difficult economic environment is challenging everyone to do more with less. By coming together as one team and pooling our resources, we can have a bigger impact on library services for teens than when working separately.
How
Each team member pledges to make a $1,000 donation, which will be used to fund mini grants to libraries that demonstrate a need, so they can update their collections, or provide literature focused programs to the teens in their communities. If team members desire, they may also make in-kind donations, such as author visits, books, swag, and more.
