Annual Timeline for YA Galley Advisors

Note:
Throughout the year, all advisors forward teens’ book evaluation forms to publishers on an ongoing basis.

October: YALSA press release announces winning TTT titles. All groups begin nominating books for next TTT (from any publisher, not just YA Galley titles, published any time between January of 2010 up through March 15, 2011).

January: YALSA YA Galley Committee meets at ALA Midwinter, inviting teen group advisors to attend and discuss procedures.

March 15: TTT nominations close; send forms ASAP to TTT Contact.

March 15: YA Galley groups vote online to narrow down nominations to a list of 25.

April 15: Final nominations list posted to YALSA site on Support Teen Lit Day, which is the Thursday of National Library Week

Annual: Committee meets at ALA Annual, inviting teen group advisors to attend and discuss procedures.

Summer: If possible, teen groups meet throughout summer to discuss nominated titles and continue reading as many titles as possible. Individuals in groups that cannot meet also continue reading nominated titles.

August – October: Teen Read Week: Public TTT teen vote occurs online on YALSA site.

October: YALSA press release announces winning TTT titles.
