My name is Elisa Anais Garcia and I'm the Supervising Librarian of the MyLibraryNYC Collections at the New York Public Library. The MyLibraryNYC program is a partnership between New York City's Department of Education and the three public library systems of New York City, Brooklyn Public Library, New York Public Library, and Queens Public Library, In my role, I'm responsible for managing and developing the teacher set collection that circulate throughout New York City public schools, but I also oversee the MyLibrary NYC logistics and delivery department which is responsible for the shipping of the teacher sets and other logistical manners. There are many things that I enjoy about my job, but I really appreciate the impact of the teacher set collection on the students and educators that participate in the program along with the diversity and accessibility of the collection. I like the fact that members of YALSA are strongly committed to teen services and advocate for services
that are inclusive, equitable, and accessible for teens within safe spaces.
