About

Nine Days to Christmas takes place in Mexico and is a delightful story of a little girl of Mexico City who is now old enough to have her own posada, one of the parties held for nine days to herald the coming of Christmas. In her drawings, Ets has used clean, expressive lines and only a few colors with gray wash for background, which intensifies as day fades, but the effect is one of brilliance and color. The pictures carry their own story and in them, Ets has caught not only the special aura of anticipated holiday, but of Mexico City's vibrancy and movement.
