Smart and scrappy Bridget is accepted into a posh Australian boarding school,  and is determined to keep her not so law abiding family’s business a secret from the other students in school until she meets Menzies.  The narrator’s reading reflects Bridget’s angst and resourcefulness in this timely story dealing with detainees in refugee internment camps.
