The Indian Territory Community Claremore, the birthplace of playwright and poet Lynn Riggs and the setting of Riggs’ ‘Green Grow the Lilacs,’ a play that became the Broadway musical ‘Oklahoma!’ and brought the world Laury, Curly and Aunt Eller, is designated a Literary Landmark by Friends of Libraries U.S.A.
The landmark was relocated from the Will Rogers Library to the Claremore Museum of History and rededicated on September 7, 2014.
