The initiative will serve rural and small libraries in need across the country through grant funds, education, and in-depth training. Applications will be open from Feb. 3-17, 2025.
United for Libraries Outstanding Friend Conference Grant sponsored by ThriftBooks
The United for Libraries Outstanding Friend Conference Grant sponsored by ThriftBooks enables one member of a Friends of the Library group at a public library to attend the ALA Annual Conference. Applicants must be first-time attendees, and must be active in their public library Friends group. The winner will receive a grant of $1000, plus full ALA Annual Conference registration.
United for Libraries Awards for Innovation sponsored by Baker & Taylor
Given annually to recognize Friends groups and library Foundations for outstanding efforts to support their library.
National Friends of Libraries Week Awards
Friends groups are recognized each year for outstanding efforts to promote and celebrate National Friends of Libraries Week in October. Applications are due in December. Winners receive a small financial award and certificate.
