Programming Requirements
Exhibition sites are required to offer an opening event and at least two public programs for adult audiences on the humanities themes of the exhibit, presented by qualified humanities scholars. The opening event may be combined with a required public program. Sites are encouraged to present more than two programs. Programs should: 1) encourage scholar-led reflection upon and discussion about the major issues surrounding the two events; 2) acquaint new audiences with the history of these two critical events in American history, their outcomes and legacies, and 3) make use of materials in different formats that have been developed to support the content of the exhibition.
