Audio of Liz Lawley's Closing Keynote from GLLS2007

By Jenny Levine | By Liz Lawley
Presented July 24, 2007

Liz Lawley closes GLLS2007 "Much of the emphasis on gaming in libraries in recent months has focused on integrating console-based and PC-based video games into library environments. But some of the most interesting recent developments in gaming go far beyond screen-based environments, engaging participants in a richer and more interactive experience. How can we take the best aspects and attractiveness of current video games and apply them in ways that are more integrated with the library experience?

As a special added bonus, I'll also spend time talking about the importance of libraries in educating the public about the value of games and gaming literacy, and issue a Call to Action for librarians to take the lead in this increasingly necessary educational role." More info....
