To encourage excellence in the architectural design and planning of libraries. Awards for distinguished accomplishment in library architecture by an architect licensed in the United States will be made for any library in the United States or abroad.
A design competition honoring excellence in library interior design. Award winners will demonstrate excellence in aesthetics, design creativity, function, and satisfaction of the client’s objectives.
The American Institute of Architects, the American Library Association, and the National Book Committee established the award in 1962 to encourage excellence in teh architectural design and planning of libraries.
To encourage excellence in the architectural design and planning of libraries, the AIA and the American Library Association/Library Administration and Management Association created this award to distinguish accomplishments in library architecture.
