Why Check for updates:
Keeping your Windows software up to date is vital for your laptop to perform properly and securely on a daily basis. Each update normally includes improvements and bug fixes that were found in previous software versions. Updating Windows has shown to decrease the overall amount of blue-screens. Although it may not completely resolve every blue-screen issue, being up-to-date will surely improve the overall functionality of your machine.
How to check for updates:
Windows is currently on version 20H2. You can see your Windows version by searching “About my PC” in the Windows search bar.
To see available updates, select Check for Windows Updates. Or select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update to get the latest major update of Windows 10. If there are no current updates, then you have the most recent available version of Windows 10. Also, check your disk space on C: (local drive) to make sure you have 5GB of free space at all times. If not, you may have to free up space or use an external device for the update.
