Redirection
Use the Redirection content type to add a Redirection from one node to another, or to an external URL.
To create a Redirection, follow these steps:
- Log in to the website that contains the link that will be redirected (i.e. educationcareers) and click the “Content” link in the admin menu.
- Click the “+ Add content” link.
- Click the “Redirection” link.
- Enter text in the “Administrative Title” field to help users understand the purpose of the redirection.
- Enter a site-relative URL (such as 'about' or 'node/555') or a full URL (such as 'http://www.ala.org') in the “Destination URL” area.
- Specify the short URL for this redirect in the “URL Alias” area.
- Use a site-relative path without a slash at the start or end. For example, to create a redirect at www.ala.org/yalsa/awards2012 the URL to enter here would be 'awards2012'.
- Note: The alias cannot be an existing alias on the site. Remove the existing alias from the URL path settings on the page before creating the redirect.
