Canva: Transition to ALA Team
Canva for Nonprofits provides ALA staff with a powerful tool to create engaging marketing materials. These step-by-step instructions guide you through transitioning existing Canva content to an ALA Team account, giving you full access to all Canva features and images.

Getting Started:
- Request access to Canva by sending an email to help@ala.org
- Please include your ALA email address as well as the email address associated with your existing Canva account, if applicable
- You will receive an emailed invitation to join the ALA Team on Canva
- Accept the invitation (on both ALA and personal accounts, if applicable)
Copying Projects to ALA Team from Personal Account:
- After accepting the invitation to join the ALA Team, log into your personal Canva account
- Make sure you are on your personal account, not the ALA Team
- Find your ALA projects and folders
- Click the dots next to the project/folder and select “Copy to another team”
- Choose the ALA Team you just joined
- Once all ALA related content is copied over, switch from your personal account to the ALA Team
- Verify that your content is copied over
- Share all content you just copied over with your ala.org email address (make sure you give yourself editing access)
- Log out of Canva
- Log back in with your ala.org email address
- Verify that you can view and edit your content
- When you are finished moving all ALA projects to the ALA Team, email help@ala.org to have your personal account removed from the ALA team
- Log back in to your personal account and delete ALA content
- Use your ala.org login for all future content editing and creation
Copying Projects to ALA Team from ALA Account:
- After accepting the invitation to join the ALA Team, log into your Canva account
- Find your ALA projects and folders
- Click the dots next to the project/folder and select “Copy to another team”
- Choose the ALA Team you just joined
- Once all content is copied over, switch to the ALA Team
- Verify that your content is copied over
- Create and edit all future content within the ALA Team
