ALA COVID-19

Protocol This message is a reminder of the ALA COVID-19 protocol that is in place. Please understand that ALA wants to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all employees. Be assured that we will maintain your privacy in all of these matters.

Notification:

Staff who test positive or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 are required to email Grisela Rodriguez (and copy Lorelle Swader), AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. (Regardless if you have visited the office lately) This is necessary to ensure everyone’s safety. You will be required to self-quarantine and be restricted from entering the ALA offices. At that time, a contact tracing process will be conducted by HR.

Based on the latest CDC recommendations we will be following these COVID-19 protective measures:

      • If you were exposed to someone with COVID-19, isolate from others and wear a high-quality mask for 10 days. Then, if you show no symptoms, have not had a fever for 24 hours with no use of medication, you can return to the office or gather with others from ALA (no test will be necessary).
      • If you test positive for COVID-19, isolate from others and wear a high-quality mask for 10 days. If show no symptoms, are fever free for 24 hours without use of medication, you can return to the office or gather with others from ALA. (no test will be necessary).
        • If after 10 days you continue to show symptoms, continue to isolate. Once you show no symptoms and are fever free for 24 hours without medication use, you can return to the office or gather with others (no test will be necessary).

In Office Safety Protocols

Masks are required to be worn in all ALA offices. (Except when staff are eating/drinking or alone in an office with walls that go to the ceiling and a closed door) Social distancing and frequent hand washing are also required.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to Lorelle Swader lswader@ala.org or Grisela Rodriguez grodriguez@ala.org.
