OCLC RESOURCE SHARING UPDATE
ALA Annual 2002
June 2002
If you have questions or comments contact makc@oclc.org or the OCLC staff member indicated below.
POLICIES DIRECTORY
OCLC will replace the current Name-Address Directory with a completely new web-based system, the Policies Directory. The Policies Directory will continue to support summary level policies information and will also allow libraries to provide in-depth policy and contact information. The Policies Directory will be available to both members and non members at no charge. The prototype for the Policies Directory will be featured at the OCLC ILL Users Group (Saturday 6/15 from 4:30-5:30, Wyndham Atlanta Centennial B) and will be shown at the OCLC booth during exhibit hours and at the OCLC Red Suite from 1-3 Saturday, June 15 and Sunday June 16. Contact Mark Tullos at tullosm@oclc.org for more information.
WEB INTERFACE TO OCLC ILL
Since its introduction in September 2001 more than 2000 libraries have switched from Passport (command line) to the web. Regular enhancements to the web interface are making it even easier to use and reduce steps and keystrokes. Recent enhancements include adding the ability to choose holdings options from a holdings display, persistent lender strings and additional local browser settings.

OCLC ILLIAD NEWS
The next OCLC ILLiad release, targeted for release the week of June 24, will provide major improvements to ILLiad/OCLC interaction. ILLiad will no longer require Passport or ILL ME. A new component, Odyssey, will provide truly integrated document delivery.
Lending Pages, available now, allow lenders to provide a web interface to frequent paper-based borrowers, allowing those borrowers to request materials through a web interface and track their own requests.
The Atlas installation option has been extended to a full day and a half for installation and training. In addition, a pre-installation checklist will help libraries move quickly from installation to rollout. New pricing levels will make ILLiad's efficiencies available to more libraries.
Contact Mark Tullos at tullosm@oclc.org for more information.
NLM/OCLC Union List Pilot
OCLC has successfully loaded Serhold data into OCLC Union List System for the 8 pilot libraries. This pilot is progressing very well with plans to allow NLM libraries to choose to have their Serhold data added to OCLC. When completed this program will help OCLC member libraries improve their fill rates and turn around time as well as eliminating the need for medical libraries to update both OCLC and Serhold. NLM libraries, through the Docline interface, will indicate their willingness to participate in the program, NLM and OCLC will do the rest!
Contact Cathy Kellum at kellumc@oclc.org for more information.
UNION LISTING LIST SERV
Over 600 libraries have subscribed to UL-L, the new listserv specifically for union listers.

OCLC TO DEMONSTRATE PROTOTYPE OF A WEB INTERFACE TO THE OCLC ILL MANAGEMENT STATISTICS
OCLC will be demonstrating a prototype Web interface to the ILL Management Statistics at the booth. This Web interface will provide subscribers to the Management Statistics with a graphical view of their libraries ILL activity. This project will provide basic interlibrary loan statistics to subscribing libraries, utilizing the data maintained in their ILL Management Statistics data file.
