Genealogy Committee
Purpose
The Genealogy Committee provides a forum serving the interests of genealogists and of librarians whose work is in, or related to, the field of genealogy. Committee members represent large and small genealogical collections in public, special, university and society libraries. Its objective is to train and assist librarians, especially in history departments and public libraries, who provide service to genealogists.
The Committee has sponsored a preconference entitled “Behind the Genealogy Reference Desk” for several years prior to the ALA Annual and Midwinter Conferences.
Those interested in volunteering for this committee should complete a committee volunteer form.
