Description

The RUSA Fundraising and Sponsorships Committee works to facilitate communication between RUSA (including RUSA office staff, RUSA committees, sections and the Board) and database providers, publishers, and others to ensure the continued support of RUSA's awards, events and learning opportunities.

Duties

The RUSA Fundraising and Sponsorships Committee:

  • Identifies and executes fundraising efforts to support RUSA’s programs, awards, and events.
  • Coordinates and implements activities such as Giving Days, sponsorship campaigns, and other revenue-generating events.
  • Targets vendor partnerships and institutional support.
  • In collaboration with RUSA leadership, plans and implements fundraising campaigns, working in coordination with relevant groups or units, including RUSA program and conference committees, the RUSA Board, and the ALA Development Office.
  • Supervises sponsorship efforts for events such as the President’s Program, preconferences, and other signature RUSA events.
  • Ensures that RUSA sections and committees receive guidance and training on cultivating and maintaining sponsor relationships, with the goal of securing sustainable financial resources to further RUSA’s mission.
