Many libraries house special collections consisting of manuscripts, rare books, and other artifacts. Much of these materials are of interest for family and local history, often focused on the library's local geographical area. This is common in academic and research libraries, but also increasingly in public libraries.

This webcast will highlight examples of such collections and their application to the family history, with an emphasis on manuscript collections from a variety of libraries. Learn methods for accessing and using such collections, whether offline or online.

*DURING THIS TIME OF COVID-19 RELATED LIBRARY CLOSURES: For purposes of group registration, RUSA will define a group as up to 20 staff from a single library system working remotely and logging in individually from multiple locations to participate in the live webinar broadcast. It will be the responsibility of the registrants to share the webinar login information with members of their staff who wish to participate.
