Creating a Training Program Framework for Information and Reference Staff

This 90-minute webinar will explore an information services training program that MIT Libraries implemented to support all library staff who offer any information and reference services. Learn about the goals for this library-wide information services training program, steps taken from conception to creation, future work for the training program, and best practices for creating a staff training program framework. The intended audience is anyone responsible for developing staff training, as well as those who want to create a staff training program framework that is systematic, comprehensive, and ongoing.

This webinar is applicable for all types of libraries.

Presenter

Tina Chan (she/her/hers) is the reference services program manger and liaison librarian to the global languages department and the writing program at MIT Libraries. She has served on the executive board of the Asian Pacific Librarians Association and the ALA Sustainability Round Table. She continues to be active with these organizations. She is a member of the ALA Task Force on United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. She also writes book reviews for various publications.
