Restructuring Implementation Task Force

Charge

Carry out the structural recommendations of the former RUSA Organization and Planning Committee. These recommendations were proposed and passed by the Board between January 2017 and June 2017.

  • Craft a new, efficient model for division review and reporting that streamlines the process for all. The model should incorporate goal setting combined with a method for continuous improvement. Committees and Sections should set their own goals taking direction from the RUSA strategic plan and additional RUSA goals conveyed by leadership.
  • Update the RUSA Policies and Procedures as necessary; create policies and procedures for new committees.
  • Support the newly created groups as they formalize (not sure how to word this)
  • Provide support for new committees in carrying out their charges.

Time Period
The Task Force will accomplish its work during the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 years at which time the task force will dissolve.

Get Involved

ALA values committed and active committee members. Qualified members are welcome to volunteer to serve on RUSA and section committees. Committee members must have an interest in the work of the committee; be able to attend Annual Conferences and Midwinter Meetings to participate in the meetings and activities of the committee; and be able to work between conferences via e-mail and ALA Connect. Express your interest in serving on this or other committees by filling out an application form. Appointments take place between Midwinter and Annual conferences. Committee service usually begins following Annual Conference, about July 1, with the exception of the award committees whose work takes place from February to January.
