SRRT Resolutions 1989: Resolution on Access Restrictions to Online Databases for Labor Union Subscribers

Resolution on Access Restrictions to Online Databases for Labor Union Subscribers

Adopted at 1989 Midwinter Meeting

The Library Union Task Force of the ALA Social Responsibilities Round Table strongly protests the restriction of access to any databases for any individual or group in accordance with the ALA's Freedom to Read declaration. We particularly object to the restriction by Dun and Bradstreet limiting access to financial information by labor union subscribers. We also urge ALA to review sponsorship of any ALA awards supported by organizations who violate the Freedom to Read declaration.
