The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Round Table (GLBTRT) of the American Library Association (ALA) was founded in 1970 as ALA's Task Force on Gay Liberation.  It is the nation's first gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender professional organization.  The GLBT Round Table Newsletter was published sporadically since the founding of the organization.  It was published under numerous titles and ISSNs over the years (1045-2893; 1533-7219; 4585-8362; and 3607-0176):
