The 2006-2007 NMRT year is running smoothly thanks to the efforts and enthusiasm of the NMRT Executive Board members, committee chairs, and NMRT members. Plans are underway for NMRT events at the Midwinter and Annual conferences, NMRT-L online discussions, conference scholarships, publication opportunities, and other activities throughout the year. The 2006-2007 NMRT Vice-President/President-Elect, Nanette Donohue, will begin appointing members to 2007-2008 committees right after the Midwinter conference and on into the spring, so stay tuned to NMRT-L for her call for volunteers.
We've entered the online social networking arena on MySpace , Frappr, and Facebook, so please drop by. We also have plans to carve a space for ourselves in the ALA Communities. The url for our space will be http://communities.ala.org/nmrt/.
If you are attending Midwinter in Seattle, don't forget to reserve some room on your conference schedule for NMRT events. NMRT Midwinter activities include the NMRT candidate forum, the Midwinter Social at the Elephant & Castle, the Meet & Greet at the Summerfield Suites (NMRT hotel), the All-Committee meeting, NMRT Orientation, and of course, our popular Resume Review Service. Check the NMRT site in early January for locations and times. See you there!
