On behalf of the NMRT membership I wish to extend deepest sympathy to those in the Gulf Coast region who have been severely affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. ALA has provided web links for donations – I encourage NMRT members, who have not done so, to show support for those who are in need by making a donation equal to NMRT dues ($10.00), as a show of solidarity.
On a positive note, ALA President, Michael Gorman, and the ALA Executive Board have decided to keep the ALA Annual Conference 2006 in New Orleans! So, we hope all NMRTers will join us to make the Conference a success!
In the meantime, preparations are underway for the Midwinter Conference in San Antonio, January 20-25, 2006. NMRT has many programs and events planned. Please refer to this issue of Footnotes for days and times.
