Headliners

Katie Dunneback has recently joined the Southeastern Library Services office in Bettendorf, Iowa as a Consultant.  She has also been appointed to the new Reference and User Services Association’s Collection Development and Evaluation Section Reading List Council Award Committee for a two year term.

Dawn Lowe-Wincentsen and Suzanne Byke, both of Florida State University Libraries, presented "Following to the Top, and Leading from the Bottom" at the Australian Library and Information Associations New Librarian Symposium 2006. At the American Library Association’s (ALA)midwinter meetings in Seattle, Veronica L C Stevenson-Moudamane, NMRT Member and current candidate for Member Services Director, was confirmed by ALA Council to International Federation of Library Associations and Institution’s (IFLA) Standing Committee for Libraries Serving Disadvantaged Persons.  Veronica's four year term commences after the IFLA annual conference in August of 2007 being held in Durban, South Africa.
 
The members of the 3M/NMRT Professional Development Grant Committee are pleased to announce this year’s grant winners.

John Meier was recently appointed Assistant Librarian at the Physical and Mathematical Sciences Library at The Pennsylvania State University.  He obtained his Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2003.  John is a member of the New Members Round Table (NMRT) Web Committee, acts as a liaison to two ACRL Sections, and is currently running for Membership Director.  While attending the ALA Annual Conference, John hopes to meet new colleagues and take a stronger leadership role at the national level.

Danielle Pollock is the librarian for the Missouri Department of Transportation. She received her Masters degree in Library Science from the University of Missouri in 2006. Danielle is active in the Special Libraries Association's Transportation Division and the Midwest Transportation Knowledge Network, a regional network of state DOT, corporate, and academic transportation libraries. She is also currently serving as Recorder for the Special Libraries Division of the Missouri Library Association. In addition to taking advantage of the many networking, outreach, and continuing education opportunities available at the 2007 ALA Annual Conference, Danielle will be assisting with the "Using Past Lives to Launch Your Library Career" panel as a member of this year's NMRT Annual Program committee.

Stacy Brown is the Head Librarian at Bauder College in Atlanta, Georgia.  She obtained her Master of Library and Information Science from Florida State University in 2001.  Stacy is a member of the Georgia Library Association and serves as a member of the Academic Library Division and Reference Services Interest Group.  Stacy is an active member of Georgia Private Academic Libraries (GPALS) and participates in the Atlanta Area Bibliographic Instruction Group.  While attending the ALA Annual Conference, Stacy looks forward to volunteering for the NMRT Resume Review Committee, expanding her network of librarians, and strengthening her library advocacy skills.
